Andrew - Purchase Ledger

I joined the company 18 months ago straight from school. I joined on the purchase ledger and was involved with all of our customers' ledgers. I have now completed the first level of the AAT course which the company supported me on and have now started level 2. Once I complete this level I will move over to the Management Accounts function and start my CIMA course.

I have had a fantastic opportunity and am now fully on board a career path of my choice.

John - Contracts Administration

I started with the company in 2007 as a Contracts Administrator. My role was to check the paperwork of customer jobs being submitted for production. I moved onto be responsible for the costings element of the job and also to book the jobs for survey and delivery.

I am now supervisor of the department and have 4 people in my team. I did not think when I started that I would be able to develop and progress so quickly.

Steve - Customer Services

I was orignally working on the production side of the business but saw an opportunity to apply for a role in the technical services team - part of customer services. Adapating to life in the office was difficult at first but I soon began to enjoy it and realised I had an aptitude for it. Six months ago I got promoted to Customer Services Supervisor and now have 5 people in my team dealing with all aspects of our customers' enquiries.

Peter - Payroll and Mergers and Acquisitons

I was a Payroll Senior within the team which I enjoyed immensely. However when the company started making acquisitions I got seconded off site to the newly purchased companies to set up a completely new payroll for them and then incorporate back into our main systems at head office. I still work for payroll but since my first "adventure" have now been called out a further two times to help with new companies.

It has taught me new skills and given me a new level of confidence I did not think would be possible.
